Senior Valuation Associate - Alternative Investments

Overview
A leading global investment firm with over $50B in assets under management is seeking a Senior Valuation Associate. This role offers exposure to complex valuation work across private credit and equity investments, supporting a dynamic portfolio spanning multiple industries. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week in-office.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quarterly valuation analyses on companies and securities using internal valuation models.
• Monitor portfolio company performance, including financial spreading and analytics.
• Communicate trends and performance drivers to senior management and report on credit metrics.
• Liaise with deal teams, finance/operations teams, and external valuation consultants.
• Synthesize data to support, challenge, and reconcile conclusions, including back-testing and stress-testing.
• Recommend enhancements to valuation processes and methodologies in line with best practices.
• Manage external valuation audit processes, including internal controls.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flows).
• Familiarity with capital markets, corporate securities, and capital structures; experience with financial modeling.
• Strong financial statement analysis skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines with superior organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret complex legal documents.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desired Background

• 2+ years of accounting/finance experience with exposure to valuation techniques (DCF, market comparables).
• Background in private credit, valuation consulting, or Big 4 accounting firm.
• Preference for prior credit/direct lending experience.
• Progress toward CPA license or CFA charter a plus.

Compensation
$90,000 - $110,000 + bonus and best-in-class benefits
