Beacon Hill Financial is working with a non-profit in Midtown Manhattan to bring a Senior Accountant to their team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the organization's financial records. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of variances
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with US GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, schedules, and internal management reports
- Support annual audit and tax processes, including preparation of audit workpapers and assistance with Form 990 reporting
- Perform analysis of financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Development/Grants teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and proper revenue and expense recognition
- Support grant and restricted fund accounting, including reconciliations, reporting, and compliance monitoring, where applicable
