Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a local client in Washington, DC in their search for a Staff Accountant. This role will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in general ledger activities, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. This role is fully in-office at our client's DC office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain and update financial records in compliance with GAAP
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation
• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of GL accounting experience
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
