Senior FP&A Accountant - Arlington, VA
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a growing organization in Arlington, VA in their search for a Senior FP&A Accountant. This full-time position supports budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and monthly close activities while working closely with department leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and experience using Workday Adaptive Planning in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage department budgets, rolling forecasts, financial models, and cost-benefit analyses aligned with organizational goals.
Partner with business stakeholders to update projections, explain financial results, and support data-driven decisions.
Maintain and enhance Workday Adaptive Planning to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Support annual budget development, month-end close activities, and preparation of financial and variance reports.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and assist with reconciliations and expense review.
Assist in preparing comparative reporting, including budget-to-actual and prior-year analyses.
Perform ad hoc financial analyses, reporting, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (required).
Strong proficiency in Workday Adaptive Planning (required); NetSuite experience preferred.
Solid accounting foundation, including journal entries, reconciliations, and expense review.
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance teams.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to integrity and customer service.
