Senior Accountant - Washington, DC

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in Washington, DC in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a key role in managing complex accounting functions and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, experience leading close processes, and the ability to support audits, budgeting, and financial analysis. Prior experience working within a nonprofit organization is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in compliance with GAAP

• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company accounting policies, and external reporting requirements

• Support audit processes by compiling necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts through the provision of accurate financial data and analysis
