Beacon Hill has partnered with a locally based client in the search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role will require candidates to possess an active CPA. This is a fully onsite position that will require candidates to be local to Virginia. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for producing financial reports, handling full cycle GL accounting functions, and will coordinate with DCAA and DCMA agencies regularly. Essential Job Duties
- Serve as the primary liaison for DCAA and DCMA audits, including compiling incurred cost submissions and provisional indirect rate packages.
- Partner with the Controller and payroll team to align departmental operations and contribute to special initiatives.
- Collaborate with the tax team and external consultants to support the preparation of quarterly estimates and annual returns.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information, strategic plans, and internal communications.
- Help develop cost proposals and assist with pricing strategies for new business opportunities.
- Coordinate financial activities with the company's banking institutions, ensuring timely submission of monthly and annual reports.
- Track actual performance versus budget, investigating variances and identifying risks of overspending or revenue shortfalls.
- Assist in shaping and enhancing the organization's internal financial planning and reporting infrastructure.
- Contribute to corporate budgeting and long-range forecasting by supplying data-driven analysis and strategic insight.
- Act as a financial advisor to leadership by identifying potential risks and offering proactive mitigation recommendations.
- Support audits and financial reviews by producing internal reports and communicating results to executives and external stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies across all reporting and compliance functions.
- Manage relationships with insurance brokers and oversee administration of general liability and non-benefit policies.
- Stay informed on developments in public accounting standards and incorporate best practices into internal processes.
- Coordinate with department heads and senior executives to gather data for reports and consolidate financial inputs.
- Supervise spending controls to ensure expenditures remain within budget and aligned with strategic priorities.
