Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a growing organization in New York City to bring on an experienced Assistant Controller. This role supports day‑to‑day accounting operations across the organization and requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and hands‑on experience within a corporate accounting environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support full‑cycle accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance and month‑end close
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Review account reconciliations, analyze variances, and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Help oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets processes
• Maintain internal controls and support compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audit requests
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning activities
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
• Provide support and guidance to junior accounting staff

Preferences

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
• Strong Excel skills
• Prior experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or controllership functions
