Audit and Collections Specialist - Rockville, MD
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Rockville, MD seeking an Audit and Collections Specialist to join their team. This role will take ownership of the full AR cycle-ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payments are applied correctly, and outstanding balances are followed up on promptly. The position is fully in office.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in accounting, a bachelor's degree and prior audit experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and send invoices in alignment with client agreements and internal policies.
- Create and mail audit announcement letters
Record incoming payments (checks, ACH, wires) and reconcile any discrepancies or unapplied funds.
Track receivables through aging reports and initiate timely outreach to clients with overdue balances.
Partner with customers to resolve payment issues, disputes, or account variances.
Keep detailed records of AR activity, collection status, and client communications.
Support the month-end close process with AR reports, reconciliations, and documentation.
