Staff Accountant - Upper Marlboro, MD

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Upper Marlboro, MD in their search for a Staff Accountant to join the team. This is a on-site role responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with monthly and annual close processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute in a collaborative accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

• Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including accruals and schedules.

• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

• Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.

• Provide documentation and support during audits and external reviews.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• 3+ years of accounting experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software, experience with Sage is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
