Accounting Specialist- Washington, DC
Beacon Hill Financial is working with a local organization located in Washington, DC, that is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support their team. The role requires in-office work Tuesday through Thursday. Reporting to the VP of Financial Operations, this position focuses on accounts payable, reconciliations, expense report reviews, and accrual accounting, with Workday experience and Nimble familiarity. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, polished, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven setting. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team while gaining valuable experience in a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring proper documentation (e.g., attached receipts)
- Maintain and manage the accounts payable (AP) workload, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Support accrual accounting processes, especially during month-end close
- Assist with month-end financial reporting and other ad hoc accounting tasks
- Utilize Workday for day-to-day accounting functions and data management
