Billing Specialist

Beacon Hill is working with an organization in Bethesda who are looking for a highly organized and analytical Billing Specialist to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in billing operations, who excels in accuracy, cross-functional collaboration, and financial compliance. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing the end-to-end invoicing process in alignment with client contracts, internal policies, and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue accurate, timely invoices through accounting platforms (including Sage) and customer portals.
• Ensure billing aligns with the terms and conditions of service agreements and client contracts.
• Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and customer service teams to validate billing inputs and maintain up-to-date client records.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, providing clear documentation and prompt communication to stakeholders.
• Reconcile accounts receivable, monitor payment activity, and escalate overdue balances as appropriate.
• Assist in the analysis of customer payment behavior and support credit assessments.
• Contribute to monthly financial close activities, ensuring billing data is complete and reconciled.
• Uphold internal controls and compliance with audit standards, billing procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver responsive and professional service to both internal departments and external clients regarding invoicing inquiries.
