Payroll Specialist - Upper Marlboro, MD

Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a client in Upper Marlboro, MD, to identify a Payroll Specialist to join their growing team. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for managing payroll processing, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring full compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees

  • Review and verify timekeeping records, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related data

  • Maintain and update employee information within the payroll system

  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll, tax, and labor laws

  • Reconcile payroll data and generate reports for accounting and management review

  • Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings

  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to maintain accurate and consistent employee data

  • Assist with year-end reporting and tax filings, including W-2s and related documentation

  • Handle all payroll and employee information with the highest level of confidentiality


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with KTBS (Kelly Total Benefits Solution) software is highly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with payroll processing systems

  • Exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
