Payroll Analyst - Washington, DC
Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a reputable organization in Washington, DC to hire a Payroll Analyst to join their team. This position will play a key role in processing payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting payroll reporting and audits. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll processing experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role with regular in-office work required.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
Review timesheets, verify hours worked, and reconcile payroll discrepancies prior to processing.
Maintain accurate payroll records, employee data, tax information, and direct deposit details.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and support year-end reporting.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate benefit deductions, new hire onboarding, and termination processes.
Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
Participate in system updates, process improvements, and ensure payroll processes are efficient and up to date with current regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
2-4 years of payroll processing experience.
Working knowledge of payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar).
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Proficiency in Excel; ability to analyze and reconcile payroll data.
