Financial Reporting Specialist - Washington, DC

Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a local client in Washington, DC to hire a Financial Reporting Specialist. This position will play a critical role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while working closely with both the accounting team and department leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial analysis skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and a solid understanding of financial reporting standards to deliver accurate and meaningful financial insights that support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting for leadership and external stakeholders.

• Assist with the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, compiling data and building financial models to support projections.

• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to budgets and forecasts, providing insights and commentary on trends or discrepancies.

• Collaborate with department leaders to support financial planning, monitor spending, and ensure alignment with organizational budgets.

• Maintain financial dashboards and reporting tools to track key metrics and support data-driven decision making.

• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry review, accrual preparation, and reconciliation support.

• Partner with Accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data, cost allocations, and overall financial integrity.

• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and financial schedules.

• Contribute to process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and financial systems.
