Staff Accountant - Arlington, VA

Beacon Hill Financial is working with a well-established organization in Arlington, VA to hire a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of general ledger functions to grow within a collaborative finance team. This role requires onsite coverage and offers long-term career development potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaid expenses, and other routine transactions.

• Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.

• Support the month-end and year-end close process by compiling financial data and preparing schedules.

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed, including invoice processing and payment tracking.

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

• Provide support for audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) is a plus.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment
