Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a locally based client in the search for a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for assisting with month-end close processes, including handling bank and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate should have a firm understanding of QuickBooks software. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable processing both AP and AR invoices. This is a fully on-site opportunity that will require candidates to be in office five days per week in their Columbia, MD based headquarters. Essential Job Duties

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

• Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules, including calculating depreciation

• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis

• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards (GAAP)

• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and tax filings

• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues

• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
