Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with locally based commercial client in the search for a Project Accountant to join their growing team. This role will report directly to the Controller and will be the point person for all job costing accounting functions. Candidates should have a strong background in both job costing and in processing reconciliations to assist in the month-end closing process. This is a fully onsite role that will require candidates to be in-office 5 days per week in their Bethesda based headquarters. Essential Job Duties

• Monitor project budgets, track actual costs, and report on variances to project stakeholders.

• Perform detailed job costing analysis to ensure accurate allocation of labor, materials, and overhead to projects.

• Collaborate with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, and project performance.

• Prepare and process project-related invoices in a timely manner; ensure accuracy and alignment with contract terms.

• Maintain accurate financial records for each project, including change orders, subconsultant invoices, and reimbursable expenses.

• Reconcile project costs and assist in the month-end close process.

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and dashboards for internal and external use.

• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.

• Support audits and respond to inquiries related to project accounting.

• Provide recommendations for process improvements and financial controls related to project accounting.
