Beacon Hill Financial is collaborating with a property management company in D.C. to bring a VP of Property Accounting to their team. The Vice President of Property Accounting provides strategic leadership and oversight of all property-level accounting functions for the organization's real estate portfolio. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting while driving efficiencies, compliance, and best practices in property accounting. The VP of Property Accounting partners with executive leadership, asset management, operations, and external stakeholders to support organizational goals and optimize financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee property accounting teams, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.
Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all properties within the portfolio.
Collaborate with asset management, operations, and treasury teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Oversee preparation of CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and tenant billing to ensure accuracy and alignment with lease agreements.
Partner with internal and external auditors to coordinate audits and resolve issues.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting systems, and leverage technology for efficiency.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to the property accounting team.
Deliver financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with lender, investor, and joint venture reporting requirements.
