Beacon Hill has partnered with a locally based non-profit organization in the search for a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This role will report directly to the controller and will play a key role in supporting the month-end process. Candidates should have a strong foundation in both AP and AR with prior experience reconciling GL accounts. This is a hybrid role that will require candidates to be within the DC-metro area. Essential Job Duties

• Record and post journal entries with accuracy and timeliness

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and research discrepancies as needed

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Maintain and update schedules for prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets

• Support the monthly close process by adhering to established timelines and checklists

• Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations to management

• Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and GAAP standards

• Collaborate with other departments to gather and validate financial data

• Perform other accounting tasks and participate in special projects as assigned
