Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a locally based client in the search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This position will require a history working with DCAA / DCMA related accounting activities and audits as the Senior Accountant will serve as the liaison to both agencies. Experience with Deltek Costpoint is also necessary for success in this position. This is an in-office role that will require candidates to be fully onsite in their Fairfax headquarters five days a week. Essential Job Duties:

  • Act as the primary contact for financial matters involving DCAA and DCMA, including preparing incurred cost submissions and provisional indirect rate packages.
  • Assist in developing proposal budgets and supporting pricing efforts as needed.
  • Support the Controller with strategic budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial data, strategic initiatives, and operational planning.
  • Oversee financial oversight processes to ensure project expenditures align with approved budgets and goals.
  • Liaise with the company's insurance broker to manage and maintain non-benefit insurance policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal financial policies.
  • Serve as the financial point of contact for external banking partners, compiling monthly, biannual, and annual reports.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and related analysis for internal leadership and external stakeholders, including auditors.
  • Continuously stay current with updates in public sector accounting standards and industry best practices.
  • Monitor actual results against budgeted figures to identify and address potential overspending or revenue gaps.
  • Provide critical input into the design and refinement of the organization's financial reporting and budget systems.
  • Coordinate financial reporting requirements by collecting and analyzing data from various departments and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify financial or operational risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with the payroll function and Controller to ensure operational alignment and provide support for assigned special projects.
  • Work directly with external tax consultants to prepare quarterly estimated payments and annual tax returns.
