Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a locally based non-profit organization in the search for a Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This position will report directly to the Finance Director and will be responsible for managing functions across accounts payable, contract management, and full cycle grants accounting. Experience in the non-profit space is required, and the ideal candidate will have at least one year of managerial experience. Essential Job Duties
- Coordinate with the Grants Administrator to maintain comprehensive life-of-grant schedules.
- Process vendor invoices and staff reimbursements through the import system in accordance with internal procedures.
- Provide the Finance team with timely cash flow data to support financial planning.
- Monitor and reconcile contract records against accounting system data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with program staff to track expenditures against approved contract budgets.
- Manage outgoing payments, ensuring they adhere to all relevant financial policies and procedures.
- Support post-award grant activities, such as financial reconciliation, closeout processes, and reporting.
- Resolve payment discrepancies by identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of active contractual agreements.
- Process daily transactions by verifying, entering, and recording accounts payable and banking activity.
- Generate detailed reports summarizing the current accounts payable status.
- Assist with preparing timely and accurate financial grant reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Examine financial reports submitted by subgrantees to ensure they meet grant requirements and organizational standards.
- Reconcile accounts payable records to confirm payment accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to organizational cash flow forecasting.
- Collaborate with the Grants Administrator to prepare grant financial forecasts and reports for internal management review.
