Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a locally based client in the search for a new Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This position will report directly to the Accounting Director and will be responsible for managing the month-end closing process. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for handling both DCAA and DCMA audits while liaising with appropriate agencies. Essential Job Duties
Serve as the main point of contact for DCAA and DCMA on financial matters, including compiling and submitting the annual incurred cost proposal and provisional indirect rate package.
Work alongside external tax advisers to assist in preparing quarterly estimated tax payments and annual filings.
Coordinate with the Controller and payroll team to support continuity of operations and contribute to key projects.
Support budget planning, forecasting, and risk evaluation efforts under the guidance of the Controller.
Maintain current knowledge of public sector accounting standards and integrate best practices into reporting procedures.
Compile and review financial reports, such as monthly financial statements and audit-ready reports, for leadership and external entities.
Track budget activity and spending to ensure it aligns with authorized funding and anticipate potential shortfalls or overages.
Support financial compliance by aligning practices with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist in developing pricing strategies and cost estimates for new business proposals.
Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders to collect, interpret, and present financial data in a clear and timely manner.
Oversee internal financial controls to track spending against project budgets and ensure adherence to established financial targets.
Assist in maintaining and refining financial planning, reporting, and budget systems to support organizational growth and accuracy.
Act as the organizational liaison with banking partners and compile regular financial statements and compliance reports as required.
Engage with insurance brokers to manage corporate non-benefits-related policy documentation and requirements.
Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive financial information and strategic operational plans.
Collaborate with department heads to identify potential financial risks and aid in the development of proactive mitigation strategies.
