*Seeking ONLY candidates with MRI software and commercial real estate accounting experience including CAM reconciliations*
Key Job Duties (Senior Accountant)
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and owner distributions for assigned properties in accordance with Management/Leasing Agreements and SOC1 controls.
- Manage and approve large accounts payable disbursements, process weekly check-runs, and ensure accurate cash receipts and balances are posted.
- Oversee tenant billing and rent roll updates, including move-ins, move-outs, adjustments, and rent escalations in coordination with property management.
- Conduct general ledger and income statement reviews, posting journal entries and coordinating with Property Managers for necessary corrections.
- Assist with complex budgeting and reconciliation processes, including CAM, real estate tax escalations, and "gross-up" calculations.
- Ensure monthly module closures and reporting deadlines are met using MRI or Yardi and support audit requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of fee-based property management accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, cash/accrual accounting, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in MRI and Yardi real estate accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe.
- Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects independently with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
