KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee daily cash flow management and forecasting.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform complex bank and investment reconciliations.
- Manage cost allocation processes across programs and departments.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a team of three finance staff (3).
- Provide training and professional development opportunities.
- Delegate responsibilities and ensure team productivity and accuracy.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support career growth.
Compliance & Controls
- Design, implement, and maintain internal financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations.
- Support annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors.
- Assist with tax preparation and filing requirements.
- Monitor adherence to grant compliance and reporting requirements.
Systems & Process Management
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central/NAV) for financial operations.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and reporting tools.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA certification (active and in good standing).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit sector.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
