Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Tax Accountant to support our Accounting team with year-end close and tax-related responsibilities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial data is available for tax provision calculations, compliance filings, and regulatory audits.

The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with the Tax, AP, Payroll, and FP&A teams to support data integrity, documentation, and deliverables related to corporate tax compliance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Year-End Tax Support

· Assist in preparing and validating trial balances and supporting schedules for the year-end income tax provision (ASC 740).

· Identify and document book-to-tax differences, including both permanent and temporary items.

· Partner with the Tax team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of required financial data for tax filings.

Fixed Asset & Depreciation Reporting

· Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.

· Identify and flag fully depreciated or retired assets for proper write-off and tax treatment.

· Coordinate with Tax to align book vs. tax depreciation methods and schedules.

State Apportionment & Nexus Support

· Compile revenue, payroll, and property data by state to support state tax apportionment calculations.

· Monitor and report on activities in new jurisdictions that may trigger sales tax nexus or filing requirements.

· Partner with HR and Payroll to track remote employees' locations and implications for state tax filings.

1099 & Vendor Data Compliance

· Support the 1099 filing process by verifying vendor classifications and payment types.

· Ensure accurate collection and maintenance of W-9 forms for applicable vendors.

· Review AP data to identify 1099-eligible payments and coordinate with external filing providers if applicable.

Transaction & Intercompany Accounting

· Assist in documenting the accounting treatment and financial impact of M&A transactions, restructurings, and intercompany transactions.

· Work with Legal, Treasury, and Tax to maintain accurate legal entity data and intercompany balances.

Documentation & Workpaper Management

· Maintain clear and audit-ready documentation for journal entries and financial transactions.

· Organize and archive year-end workpapers, schedules, and reconciliations to support tax return preparation and external audits.

Cross-Functional Communication & Planning

· Act as a liaison between the Accounting and Tax teams to coordinate timelines, data needs, and deliverables.

· Participate in year-end planning meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives related to financial close and tax support.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required.

· 3-6 years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting or corporate tax support experience is a plus.

· Solid understanding of GAAP and basic tax principles (ASC 740 knowledge is beneficial).

· Experience with fixed assets, state apportionment data, and vendor compliance preferred.

· Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).

· Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.

· Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Soft Skills:

· Proactive and resourceful - able to track down data and clarify ambiguity.

· Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Team player with a continuous improvement mindset.

Working Conditions:

· Hybrid or remote work options available.

· Occasional overtime may be required during month-end and year-end close.
