Job Title: Accountant/Senior Accountant (With heavy emphasis on auditing, reconciliations, closings, and general ledger)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Employment Type: Temporary/Contract, with possibility of extension or conversion
Pay Range: $35.00-50.00/hour, depending on experience
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, reconciliations, and close activities.
This role requires strong fundamentals in tick-and-tie verification, roll-forward accounting, and cross-footing accuracy checks to ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
This is an on-site position with a standard Mon-Fri, 8 am-5 pm work schedule. However, additional hours may be required during month-end closings and tax season to meet business and reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed tick-and-tie procedures to verify that financial data agrees across the general ledger, trial balance, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies on time.
- Prepare, maintain, and review roll-forward schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring accuracy from period to period.
- Conduct cross-footing, recalculations, and internal consistency checks on schedules, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Support the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation and review.
- Prepare and maintain clear, organized, audit-ready workpapers and documentation.
- Assist with tax season support, including tie-outs between book and tax schedules and providing requested documentation.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounting experience, with prior experience working in public accounting or auditing.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Experience with ERP or accounting platforms (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
