Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee financial operations for our real estate investment and management portfolio. This position involves handling daily accounting activities, preparing financial reports, and supporting executive leadership with analysis and special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute client invoices; process incoming payments (cash, checks, credit cards).
  • Support billing, collections, and payment allocations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance against budget and assist with annual budgeting.
  • Record intercompany transfers and loan transactions.
  • Allocate credit card expenses across multiple entities.
  • Maintain and update complex financial spreadsheets.
  • Organize company records, insurance documentation, and compliance files.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the general ledger; post adjusting entries as needed.
  • Collaborate with property managers on inventory and reserve reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly lender reports and development project draw requests.
  • Partner with executives on asset analysis and other strategic initiatives.
  • Handle additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of A/R, A/P, and general accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with office administration and accounting systems (AppFolio preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, including accounts receivable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
