Financial Assistant 2 (Staff Accountant)
Location: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite after initial training)
Overview:
We are seeking a Financial Assistant to join a dynamic team. This is a true temp-to-perm position, where you'll gain hands-on experience with various financial tasks. After a 5-day onsite training period, the role will transition to a hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite per week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support financial activities for research funds, including federal, industry, and foundation grants.
- Review and reconcile financial transactions, including credit card statements, invoices, and journal entries.
- Prepare and process procurement documents and manage expenditures.
- Assist with monthly forecasting and financial reporting.
- Audit accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for staff, faculty, and vendors on financial matters.
- Support the financial officer and assist with ad-hoc financial tasks and special projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with financial software (experience with systems like SAP, Cognos, or Concur is a plus).
