Senior Accountant - Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Our client, a major healthcare provider, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance activities. This role will work closely with internal teams and leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial processes and may include oversight of junior accounting staff.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries and monthly reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts
- Oversee and train staff accountant(s) as needed on daily and month-end accounting tasks
- Perform general ledger analysis and investigate variances
- Develop and implement accounting policies and controls in accordance with GAAP
- Coordinate with other departments to maintain consistent accounting practices
- Support financial reporting, audit preparation, and tax filing processes
- Work closely with systems and finance teams on upgrades and process improvements
- Assist with the annual budget and support ad hoc reporting and projects
Qualifications:
- CPA required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; healthcare experience a plus
- Experience with general ledger systems (Lawson preferred) and strong Excel skills
