Staff Accountant - Hybrid (Boston, MA)
Our client, a growing technology-driven financial services organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team on a 6-month temp-to-hire basis. This hybrid position requires being onsite approximately 8 days per month (typically Tuesdays through Thursdays). The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting while contributing to process improvement initiatives within the Finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper supporting documentation
- Assist with intercompany transactions and management reporting
- Prepare P&L and cash flow reports and analyze variances
- Partner with finance leadership to identify and implement process efficiencies
- Support the AP team and other accounting functions as needed
- Participate in ad hoc projects and audits
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
