A dynamic nonprofit organization focused on social impact is seeking an experienced finance leader to manage day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and compliance related to public and private funding. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about organizational impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting, general ledger, reconciliations, and grant-related entries

  • Lead the monthly and annual close; ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Supervise finance team members and guide operational workflows

  • Monitor and forecast cash flow; support financial stability planning

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and grant requirements

  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and internal reviews

  • Partner on grant tracking, billing, and reporting

  • Support budget creation and ongoing modifications

  • Analyze financial data to inform leadership decisions

  • Contribute to operational improvements and financial strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master's preferred)

  • 5+ years of nonprofit finance experience, including government grants

  • 3+ years in a leadership or Controller role

  • Proficiency in full-cycle accounting and managing accounting teams

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with nonprofit accounting systems (QuickBooks Enterprise preferred)

  • Experience in housing, homelessness, or human services strongly preferred

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and detail-oriented
