A dynamic nonprofit organization focused on social impact is seeking an experienced finance leader to manage day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and compliance related to public and private funding. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about organizational impact.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting, general ledger, reconciliations, and grant-related entries
Lead the monthly and annual close; ensure timely and accurate reporting
Supervise finance team members and guide operational workflows
Monitor and forecast cash flow; support financial stability planning
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and grant requirements
Coordinate audits, tax filings, and internal reviews
Partner on grant tracking, billing, and reporting
Support budget creation and ongoing modifications
Analyze financial data to inform leadership decisions
Contribute to operational improvements and financial strategy
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master's preferred)
5+ years of nonprofit finance experience, including government grants
3+ years in a leadership or Controller role
Proficiency in full-cycle accounting and managing accounting teams
Strong Excel skills and experience with nonprofit accounting systems (QuickBooks Enterprise preferred)
Experience in housing, homelessness, or human services strongly preferred
