Accountant - Hybrid/Boston, MA

Our client, a global professional services organization, is seeking an Accountant to join their team on a 6-month contract with potential to extend. This role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite in Boston, typically Tuesday-Thursday) and the opportunity to support key month-end and treasury functions within a collaborative accounting group. The Accountant will assist with general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while helping streamline processes and maintain strong internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Prepare and review financial reports and schedules
• Assist with daily banking transactions such as wires, ACH transfers, and reconciliations
• Audit and validate financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and reporting needs
• Help identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
• Provide support for audit requests and ad hoc analyses as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience; public accounting background a plus
• Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) required
• Experience with large ERP systems preferred (Aderant or similar)
