Beacon Hill Financial is looking for a contract with possibility of hire Payroll Speicalist for our client located in the St. Louis county area. Responsibilities:

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll.
  • Understand ADP PayForce system and Workday as a Processor and Administrator
  • Provide support for ongoing payroll operational activities
  • Provide payroll process expertise as a project team member on departmental and cross-functional initiatives
  • Solve a variety of complex problems, conduct research, gather, and compile information for reports and analyze results
  • Regularly review current processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvements to SOP or systems to enhance performance and create efficiencies.
  • Participate in efficiently carrying out the functions of the existing payroll processes while assisting with developing and testing new payroll processes and procedures when system and business requirements change
  • Participate in various payroll audits as required by internal and external audit teams
  • Research compliance issues, IRS laws and states laws, to provide recommendations for improved compliance on internal payroll and payroll tax processes
  • Participate in payroll projects, meetings and opportunities as assigned
  • Work closely with Payroll Partners to provide excellent customer service and be back up for payroll processing as needed
  • Assist Payroll Team with annual audits such as 401k and Workers' Comp
  • Assist in resolving payroll related tax issues with ADP and the taxing agencies
  • Assist with Tax Registrations.
  • Performs other related duties or projects as assigned by the Payroll Director.

Skills and Specifications:

  • Experience with high volume, multi-state payroll environment
  • Experience with Canadian payroll
  • Experience in coordinating long-term and short-term planning in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of management deal effectively with team members
  • Have superior organization skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with vendors, management, and team members
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to lead and coach others

Education and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Payroll processing
  • Experience within ADP Payroll and Workday is a plus
