Job Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support equipment and test system development for new product introduction and continuous improvement efforts. This role will collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, and R&D to design, implement, and optimize production equipment and testing systems. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong mechanical and electrical acumen who thrives in a cross-functional, product-driven environment.

This position is based 100% onsite in Middleton, WI, working within a collaborative, tight-knit engineering team focused on delivering quality manufacturing solutions at scale.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop production test systems and manufacturing equipment (from jigs to full automation systems) using SolidWorks and LabVIEW

  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and test teams to ensure product designs meet manufacturing testability and quality standards

  • Implement test strategies and verification procedures for electronics and mechanical systems

  • Conduct hands-on prototyping, buildout, and debugging of custom manufacturing systems

  • Create clear documentation (BOMs, schematics, test plans) and maintain equipment reference materials

  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and support continuous improvement efforts

  • Work cross-functionally to research new tools, equipment, and materials to support product and process innovations

  • Participate in NPI (new product introduction) and product lifecycle transitions from engineering to production


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or equipment development

  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks for mechanical design

  • Experience with LabVIEW for test automation

  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing, including PCB handling and testing

  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept to deployment

  • Strong cross-team communication, collaboration, and documentation skills


Preferred Skills:

  • Background in C++ or object-oriented programming is a plus

  • Experience with DOE, FMEA, FEA, or Six Sigma tools

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or QRM principles

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, CE, OSHA, etc.)

  • Hands-on use of test tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, mechanical gauges)
