We have 2 Trust & Estate legal support roles. Both are with 2 different law firms in New York City. One is a Legal Secretary role and one is a Paralegal role.
T&E Paralegal:
– Drafting of wills, trusts, power of attorney and other documents under supervision of attorney
– Manage paper and electronic filings
– Handle tasks related to tax returns
– Assist with and coordinate all duties related to appearance at Court, if needed
– Manage deadlines in connection with estates
– Handle forms
– Utilize valuation software
– Legal research and records research
– Work with vendors, calendar management, liaise with clients/attorneys/internal lines of business
T&E Legal Secretary:
– Provide administrative support to attorneys in the T&E Department
– Draft, prepare, proofread various documents
– Handle coordination of materials needed for meetings
– Liaise with clients, attorneys, internal lines of business, vendors and court personnel
– Manage case files
– Calendaring, travel arrangements, billing, clerical tasks
– Ad hoc projects
Qualifications/Requirements for both
- At least 3 years of experience supporting Trust & Estate attorneys
- Experience with estate administration, probates and will
- Must be willing to be in office 5 days a week as well as work overtime when needed
