Well-known medium sized law firm is looking for a Mass Tort Client Paralegal who will work mostly remote and is responsible for all aspects related to managing clients for the Complex & Mass Tort practice group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as main point of contact for clients including:
    • Maintaining regular client contact
    • Promptly responding to client inquiries
    • Managing incoming and outgoing client correspondence
  • Responsible for ordering, tracking and reviewing client medical records and information to document evidence required to prove case and following up as needed;
  • Maintaining and calendaring client related deadlines including SOLs and client specific discovery related deadlines;
  • Responsible for responding to discovery utilizing MDL Centrality and LMI Litigation Management, including:
    • calendaring deadlines;
    • preparing answers to interrogatories;
    • completing and submitting Plaintiff Fact Sheets, Plaintiff Profile Forms, Census Forms; and
    • curing related deficiencies.
  • Working closely with the Client Service Specialist team to meet objectives of effectively and efficiently managing clients;
  • Working closely with litigation team to ensure client files are complete and ready for filing, meeting discovery deadlines and trial;
  • Performing legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and various public-access websites;
  • Utilizing Microsoft programs including Word and Excel to manage projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and regularly meet deadlines
  • Ability to do legal research
  • Ability to read and understand medical records
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, with strong reasoning skills
  • Proficiency using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Westlaw, LexisNexis and PACER
  • Experience using document management and case management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all phase of litigation process
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience with Client contact in a Mass Tort or similar litigation practice
  • Plaintiff experience strongly preferred
