Litigation Paralegal

Position Summary
The Litigation Paralegal provides comprehensive support to attorneys in all phases of litigation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

Schedule and Compensation

  • Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (In office 4 days and work from home 1 day during the week.)

  • Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze documents provided by clients and other parties at the direction of attorneys

  • Prepare, organize, and maintain electronic and physical case files

  • Assist attorneys with preparation for trials, hearings, depositions, closings, and other legal proceedings

  • Track deadlines and proactively manage case-related tasks and assignments

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by attorneys or supervisors

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and firm matters

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of five years of litigation experience preferred

  • Paralegal certificate preferred

  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills

  • Ability to proactively manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor

  • Proficiency with technology and legal support tools to assist attorneys and clients

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, and general internet research

  • Knowledge of general office procedures; familiarity with law firm procedures preferred

  • Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with attorneys, staff, court personnel, government officials, and the public
