A well-established law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning and administration, a high level of professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys and senior paralegals with estate planning and administration matters

  • Prepare and assist with Gift Tax Returns, Estate Tax Returns, and Fiduciary Income Tax Returns

  • Manage trust financial records, including trust accounting, reconciliations, and audits

  • Handle preparation of payables, bank deposits, and reconcile financial statements and tax documents (e.g., 1099s, K-1s)

  • Administer revocable and irrevocable trusts (both during life and after death)

  • Draft probate pleadings and support probate administration

  • Maintain communication with clients, financial institutions, and advisors

  • Meet annual billable hour requirements (1,500 hours)

  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical files

  • Perform legal and internet research as needed

  • Ensure work product accuracy and adhere to deadlines

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client and team interactions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Trusts & Estates preferred

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from ABA-approved program preferred (or equivalent relevant experience)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Experience with tax and accounting software (e.g., GEMS, BNA, ProSystems, EVP) strongly preferred

  • Experience in corporate or real estate law is a plus

  • Familiarity with legal document databases and electronic case management systems
