Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a mid-sized plaintiff's law firm in downtown Chicago to hire a Settlement Coordinator. This is a full-time, hybrid position (three days in-office) with a salary range of $55-75K DOE and excellent benefits.

This role is ideal for someone with 1-3+ years of law firm experience who enjoys a blend of legal and financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the settlement process from start to finish, including tracking timelines and ensuring timely collection of funds

  • Communicate with lien holders to obtain documentation and resolve outstanding issues

  • Draft and prepare necessary legal and financial documents related to settlements

  • Review and process settlement agreements for accuracy before submission

  • Coordinate payment processing with the finance department and confirm receipt of funds

  • Maintain accurate case management records and settlement status updates

  • Provide backup support to the Lead Settlement Coordinator and assist with administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of experience in a law firm (plaintiff or defense) preferred; finance, insurance, or accounting experience a plus

  • Lien experience strongly preferred, but not required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (will consider equivalent work experience; degree completion will be verified)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in case management or legal billing software is a plus

Hiring Process

  • Phone interview with the Director of Finance

  • Second round with the Liens Attorney and Director of Finance (in person preferred; virtual possible)

  • If second round is virtual, a third round in person will be required before an offer
