Associate Producer (XR Strategy)

18 month contract

Onsite, Los Angeles

Description

Seeking a highly organized and motivated Associate Producer to join our Team. We are the central hub for XR strategy, research, and implementation. We strive to enable storytelling through cutting-edge technology and foster immersive experiences that delight audiences and empower creators across the ecosystem. Reporting directly to the Sr. Producer, this individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of immersive projects that leverage extended reality (XR) technologies to drive innovation across Disney's diverse portfolio.

As Associate Producer, you will manage project budgets, track production schedules, oversee creative approvals, and report regularly to senior leadership and executive stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure creative alignment and on-time delivery of high-impact XR initiatives. This is a hands-on role requiring strong production acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and creative disciplines.

Priority of required background:

1) XR Prod, 2) Game Production & 3) Film Production

MUST HAVES:

Excellent Comm Skills, Team Player, Ask Questions, Be Proactive, Collaborative, A Go getter, Very Detail oriented, Some previous project management skills, Excellent Follow up skills - know how to track them down. Work independently and able to communicate well with all levels especially the Execs and have a Corp Professional demeanor

Production Oversight

  • Collaborate with the Sr. Producer to manage end-to-end production for XR projects within enterprise and creative organizations
  • Monitor and track detailed production schedules to ensure all milestones are met
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation, status reports, and communication workflows

Budget Management

  • Support and manage project budgets, including vendor contracts, procurement, and internal resource allocations
  • Track expenditures and forecast project burn rates to align with department goals

Creative Approvals & Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as point of contact for creative reviews, routing all assets and experiences through appropriate review processes
  • Facilitate timely and clear communication between creative, technical, and executive teams
  • Report status updates, risk assessments, and key milestones to Sr. Producer and executive stakeholders

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to shepherd projects from concept to delivery
  • Ensure alignment with XR strategy and broader company objectives
  • Champion the adoption of new production tools, pipelines, and methodologies

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in game production, film production, or XR production
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder creative projects on schedule and within budget
  • Strong understanding of immersive production pipelines and cross-functional workflows
  • Experience with budget tracking tools, project management platforms (e.g., Airtable, Smartsheets), and communication tools (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both creative and technical collaborators

Preferred

  • Experience working within a large media, technology, or entertainment company
  • Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, or other real-time 3D tools
  • Knowledge of XR hardware platforms (e.g., Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest, Magic Leap, etc.)
  • Passion for emerging technologies, storytelling, and interactive experiences
