We are partnering with a Seattle civil defense litigation firm to hire a Litigation Legal Assistant. You'll support a busy team with drafting, filing, calendaring, and case organization. Ideal candidates have around two years of law firm experience and enjoy a fast, detail-oriented environment.

What you'll do

• Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate appointments
• Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, letters, and reports
• E-file in Washington state courts and coordinate federal filings as needed
• Serve documents in line with court rules and agreements
• Open new matters and maintain electronic case files, exhibits, and evidence
• Track deadlines and statute dates, update timelines
• Communicate professionally with clients, counsel, experts, vendors, insurers, and court staff
• Submit vendor invoices to accounting and handle sensitive information with discretion

What you'll bring

• 2+ years as a legal assistant, preferably with litigation exposure
• Working knowledge of WA state court rules and e-filing procedures
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Logistics

• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
• Work setup: onsite for the first two weeks, then hybrid if ramp goes smoothly
• Start: ASAP
• Pay: $30 to $37 per hour DOE
• Temp with potential to convert after about one month if it is a mutual fit
