Beacon Hill’s client, an AmLaw 60 firm, is seeking three Contract Litigation Docketing Specialists to support an influx of work within their Intellectual Property group. Working under the supervision of the Litigation Docketing Manager, you will work closely with attorneys and legal staff to deliver accurate and reliable litigation calendaring services for federal, state, and agency matters.
- Location: Location: Positions may be in-office (Torrance, CA 90502 or San Diego, CA 92101) or remote. Remote candidates may be located anywhere in the United States but must have a strong understanding of the California Rules of Court.
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Ongoing, with the potential to convert to a direct-hire position
- Hours: 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week), with the ability to work overtime as needed
- Pay: $41.00-$50.50/hour, depending on experience
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of litigation docketing experience in a law firm setting is required
- High-volume docketing background
- Degree from an accredited college or university, a paralegal certificate, or equivalent education and experience
- Strong knowledge of the California Rules of Court
- Prior experience computing deadlines in both federal and state courts, with experience in CompuLaw Vision preferred
- Familiarity with rules-based calendaring software, such as Milana considered helpful
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure
- Team-oriented and able to transition between tasks
About the Role:
As a Litigation Docketing Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys and legal staff by independently entering case information, activity, and deadlines into CompuLaw Vision, ensuring compliance with all department procedures, best practices, and workflows. You will review court documents, legal correspondence, and case team requests, respond to inquiries regarding deadlines and court rules, conduct jurisdictional research, and provide comprehensive summaries to case teams with oversight from the Senior Litigation Docketing Specialists and Manager as needed.
This role requires ensuring that all assigned calendaring is accurate and completed in a timely manner, maintaining policies and protocols to support precise entry of deadlines and docket entries, and creating and circulating reports to case teams for review and confirmation. You will also perform quality reviews of work product according to internal procedures and escalate questions to senior docketing staff or the Litigation Docketing Manager as appropriate.
Additionally, you will provide suggestions to the Litigation Docketing Manager to help improve department procedures and workflow, stay informed of developments, procedures, and rules in the forums where the firm practices as well as general state and federal practices, and participate in projects as needed.
