Data Masking Engineer (Applications Software Engineer)
Role Overview
Seeking a Data Masking Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data masking solutions that protect sensitive data across databases and file-based systems. This role focuses on building automated, compliant masking workflows to support large-scale testing and data privacy initiatives.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing data masking solutions for PHI/PII
- Strong experience building and maintaining masking flows using K2View
- Ability to mask data across databases and file formats (CSV, TXT, XML, 837, 834)
- Proficiency in JavaScript for transformation logic and masking rules
- Strong working knowledge of GitHub, including branching strategies and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing engineering standards
- Ability to test, validate, and troubleshoot masking logic to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Experience working in regulated environments with strict data privacy requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data masking workflows using K2View
- Implement transformation logic to securely mask sensitive fields while preserving data integrity
- Automate masking deployments using GitHub pipelines and version control best practices
- Validate masked data to ensure accuracy, usability, and compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale data masking initiatives
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and process guides
