Power BI Developer

Overview:
Seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong SQL and DAX expertise to design, build, and maintain advanced dashboards and data models for executive and operational reporting. This role requires hands-on technical skills, clear communication, and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Advanced SQL experience (SQL Server or Postgres)
  • Heavy DAX measure development expertise
  • 5+ years of Power BI development experience
  • Proficiency in Power Query and MDX
  • Demonstrated ability to design professional, impactful dashboards and data stories
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data models and visualizations in Power BI
  • Author, diagnose, and modify SQL objects for reporting needs
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions
  • Build drill-through and relational model reports
  • Integrate Power BI reports into applications via embedded analytics or APIs
  • Conduct data analysis, profiling, and quality assessments
  • Create custom visuals and executive dashboards
  • Provide detailed data mappings and transformation documentation
  • Devise and execute testing plans to validate BI solutions
  • Mentor peers and review deliverables for quality and standards compliance
  • Support incident management and lifecycle monitoring of BI systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data warehouse experience
  • Programming with Python, SQL, or GoLang
  • Familiarity with Media & Entertainment data
