Direct Hire - Senior Technical Program Manager - Imaging & Sensor Systems
Seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex mixed-signal imaging and sensor modules. This person will oversee programs spanning IC design, analog/digital integration, sensor assembly, firmware integration, and manufacturing handoff taking technology from concept to fully realized camera modules used in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications.
You'll own execution across multiple engineering disciplines and external manufacturing partners, ensuring technical milestones, schedules, and dependencies align. This is a hands-on, structure-building role for an experienced program leader who thrives in environments where process maturity is emerging and cross-functional alignment must be built from the ground up.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on technical project or program management in hardware, semiconductor, or imaging environments (minimum 5+ acceptable if deep technical alignment).
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-phase hardware programs, integrating analog/digital systems and manufacturing readiness.
- Experience with sensor technologies, MEMS modules, ROICs, or mixed-signal ICs.
- Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles, including tape-out, fab, assembly, and validation.
- Comfortable operating in a lab-based, engineering-driven environment with limited prior PM infrastructure.
- Track record of developing repeatable frameworks for schedule, risk, and dependency management.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; able to influence senior engineers and leadership.
- Experience working with distributed or multi-site teams and third-party manufacturing vendors.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational abilities.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Background in imaging or infrared camera systems, sensor arrays, or aerospace/defense imaging solutions.
- Experience collaborating with government-funded or defense-related programs (clearance not required).
- Familiarity with VOx imaging materials, MEMS, or thermal imaging sensors.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing partners (GlobalFoundries, Teledyne, TSMC, etc.).
- Prior experience in legacy engineering organizations (e.g., Kodak, Raytheon, L3Harris) where technical rigor meets process evolution.
- PMP or equivalent PM certification beneficial but not necessary-technical credibility and program delivery skill matter most.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead program delivery from design through prototype, validation, and customer sampling, including:
- Mixed-signal IC and ROIC design cycles
- Sensor material integration (VOx-based or similar technologies)
- Module and optical assembly (camera systems, shutters, or IR modules)
- Software driver and firmware integration
- Manufacturing readiness with contract partners
- Operate as the program's central coordinator, managing internal engineering, external manufacturing, and supplier relationships.
- Interface with foundry and hardware manufacturing partners (e.g., GlobalFoundries, Teledyne) to drive deliverables and resolve dependencies.
- Own and continuously refine program governance, including:
- Risk and issue management
- Critical path definition and dependency mapping
- Resource alignment across disciplines (design, lab, lab, manufacturing)
- Early identification of schedule threats and proactive mitigation
- Drive cross-department accountability through structured reporting and decision forums.
- Mature internal project tooling and execution discipline (e.g., transition from Excel-based tracking to more robust PM systems).
- Coordinate with government stakeholders on defense-funded programs, ensuring compliance, communication, and reporting standards are met.
- Provide clear executive-level communication and concise program updates to leadership.
- Foster collaboration among tenured engineering talent while introducing scalable program structures suitable for a growing, well-funded organization.
Interested candidates may submit their resumes online or call at 310-906-4780 for further information regarding the position.
