Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Clerk to support high-volume, biweekly payroll processing. This role is responsible for auditing payroll data, processing adjustments, supporting onboarding and offboarding payroll activities, and serving as a resource for employee payroll inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with supervisors and managers to resolve missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate payroll data and correct discrepancies identified during audits.
• Support high-volume, biweekly payroll processing.
• Enter and process approved payroll corrections and prior period adjustments.
• Calculate and process retroactive payments and manual pay adjustments as needed.
• Process final pay for terminated employees through the payroll system or manually when required.
• Partner with HR to manage payroll for employees on Leave of Absence, including timecard updates.
• Maintain payroll records to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal/state wage and tax reporting requirements.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding payroll activities.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and accrual balances.
• Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax reporting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with HR and managers
• Proficient in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
