Position: IT Applications Engineer
Type: Contract to Hire
Location: HYBRID - Madison, WI (2-3 days per week)

We are seeking an experienced IT Applications Engineer to serve as a technical resource contributing to the enterprise's strategic technology vision. The ideal candidate will contribute directly to technology architecture, software and integration development, and serve as a strategic business partner to internal teams.

Responsibilities
Business Relationships

  • Translate business needs into actionable IT strategies and solutions.
  • Bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business requirements.
  • Analyze existing systems and applications, identifying opportunities for improvement and integration.
  • Serve as the technical lead for an association management platform.
  • Design and recommend optimal business processes and technology solutions aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and understanding of business needs.
  • Facilitate clear communication between business units and IT stakeholders.


Strategic Planning

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with organizational mission..
  • Promote innovative, efficient, and cost-effective technologies that support core functions and member experience.
  • Contribute to long-term roadmaps for technology and business capabilities, anticipating future needs and trends.


Technical Expertise

  • Lead and manage enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Contribute to software development and system integration projects.
  • Advise IT and business stakeholders on design, development, and deployment of information systems.
  • Recommend technical solutions based on business needs and industry innovations.
  • Produce technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and workflow charts.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing AMS/CRM systems.
  • Expertise in AMS/CRM systems including workflows, data models, and integrations.
  • Experience with modern integration tools (e.g., Boomi, Informatica, or Mulesoft preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data security, integrity, and enterprise IT standards.
  • Experience with system and data architecture, deployment methodologies, and infrastructure planning.
  • Familiarity with enterprise system reporting tools and data platforms (e.g., Power BI, Snowflake preferred).
  • Ability to lead and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and visual representations of architecture.
