Job Title: Desktop Support Technician IV
Location: Madison, WI 52704 (100% On-Site)
Schedule: Flexible Schedule Options
Type: Contract (Extended Duration)
Pay Rate: $27-30/hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician IV to join an on-site IT team supporting a large internal network of desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices. The role involves hands-on technical support, hardware lifecycle management, and user-facing customer service responsibilities. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to travel to satellite facilities periodically.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, and other PC hardware
* Install and configure new hardware to replace end-of-life equipment
* Maintain and update hardware inventory; ensure proper recycling and disposal of outdated devices
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues remotely and in-person
* Document and manage tickets through an internal ticketing system
* Work closely with technical leadership to ensure compliance with organizational policies and methodologies
* Assist field technicians with projects and support requests at off-site locations as needed

Work Environment & Schedule:
* Primary work location is at a central office
* Occasional travel to other facilities; travel time and mileage are compensated (or use of a state vehicle if eligible)


* Flexible scheduling options:
○ Four 10-hour days with Fridays off
○ Standard five 8-hour days
○ Nine 9-hour days over two weeks with alternating Fridays off

Physical Requirements:
* Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
* Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours as needed

Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in:
○ Remote troubleshooting
○ End-user customer service during device setup
○ Imaging and deployment of device

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with audiovisual (AV) system integration
* Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member
* Strong multitasking and time management skills
Proven track record of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment
