Job Title: Senior Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Scenic Northern Wisconsin
Salary Range: $80,000-$95,000 annually
Job Type: Full-time
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical issues, and is passionate about delivering excellent end-user support. You will serve as a key escalation point, lead technical initiatives, and mentor junior staff
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Support Windows and macOS environments, including imaging and patch management.
- Administer Active Directory, Office 365, and enterprise applications.
- Manage onboarding/offboarding processes including account setup and equipment provisioning.
- Lead or participate in IT projects such as hardware rollouts and system upgrades.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge base articles.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
- Maintain asset inventory and ensure software licensing compliance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity teams.
- Mentor junior support staff and contribute to team development.
- Uphold safety and compliance standards (ISO/OHSAS).
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of desktop support experience, including 2+ years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk).
- Familiarity with SCCM or InTune.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong documentation and process-building experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting C-suite or executive-level users.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
- Experience working in environments with ISO or OHSAS compliance standards.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Primarily office-based in a climate-controlled setting.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
- May require occasional visits to non-climate-controlled areas.
